Dragon Ball Z Kakarot: How to Use Gifts

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is a different breed of Dragon Ball game; a single-player RPG that lets you grow and train Goku and his friends. Considering it’s an RPG, Kakarot has quite a few interesting systems that factor into how your characters develop and strengthen. One of those systems is Community, and tied directly into that is gifts. Of course, you’ll need to know how to use gifts in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot first.

How to Use Gifts in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

Communities in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot are groups of Soul Emblems that you can place, basically groups of characters. As you complete the main story or sub-stories you’ll gain more Soul Emblems, and as you place them on Community boards you’ll gain status bonuses, like increased attacks or increased experience gain.

If you really want to maximize the bonuses from Soul Emblems, however, you’ll need to use gifts in order to increase their level. Let’s go over that now.

Time needed: 1 minute

Here’s a step-by-step on how to use gifts in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot.

  1. First off open the main menu by pressing options on PS4 or menu on Xbox.

  2. Select the Community Tab then the Soul Emblems option. This will bring up a list of all your emblems.

  3. Navigate to the emblem you want and press Y (triangle) to bring up its details.

  4. Now on this page you can press A to give gifts, and raise the corresponding community level of that specific emblem.

Using gifts is pretty simple, but you’ll need to have some before you can actually use them.

How to Get More Gifts

The good news is that getting gifts is super easy, as the game liberally rewards you with them. Completing chapters or battles in the main story will often reward you with them, but if you need any more just keep an eye out for sub-stories.

These side activities are marked with blue exclamation points on your map, and they often reward quite a few gifts, or even unique ones, as well as Soul Emblems. Because of this, it’s more than worth your time to seek out sub-stories when they appear.

That should be everything you need to know about how to use gifts in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. If you need any other tips or help make sure to check out our Dragon Ball Z Kakarot guide wiki. In the meantime, you can also take a look at our lengthy interview with the game’s producer.
