Set in the British-inspired Galar region, Pokemon Sword & Shield are the latest entries in Game Freak’s massively popular monster-catching series. Here’s how to get Dreepy and evolve it in Drakloak and Dragapult in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
How to Get Dreepy in Pokemon Sword & Shield
Dreepy is one of the rarest Pokemon you can get in this game, but it also has the potential to become one of the most powerful Dragon-types as well. Its spawn rate is woefully low, but if you can nab one, it’ll definitely be well worth raising.
First off, you won’t be able to get Dreepy until you’ve gotten the Surf upgrade for your bike. You can get this by progressing through the story until you clear the Gym at Circhester and proceed to Route 9, where an NPC will upgrade the bike for you.
After that, head to the Lake of Outrage, which is located in the northwest corner of the Wild Area. Cross the bridge and water to reach a small little island, where you’ll finally have a chance to catch the Dreepy.
However, it’s an extremely rare spawn in this area, and can only be encountered as one of the exclamation Pokemon in the wild grass. It has a 1% spawn rate in overcast weather, and a 2% spawn rate in rain and fog, so you’ll probably be searching for a while.
How to Evolve to Drakloak and Dragapult
Once you do manage to catch a Dreepy, however, you’ll be glad to know that you don’t have to do much to get it to evolve.
It’ll evolve into Drakloak at level 50, and then into Dragapult at level 60. And if you don’t like the IVs or nature of your Dreepy, you can always leave it at the Nursery to breed more.
To recap, here’s how to catch Dreepy in Pokemon Sword & Shield:
- Clear Circhester Gym and get the Surf upgrade on Route 9.
- Head to the Lake of Outrage in the northwest corner of the Wild Area.
- Run around in the tall grass to find Dreepy.
