How to Change Clothes and Get More Outfits in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Just like in past games in the series, the main way of getting new outfits is by purchasing them at clothing stores you find in the game.

In the game’s starting town, Postwick, you’ll find a clothing store right before you head out to Route 2, and this is your first opportunity to buy some new outfits. Make sure you’ve got enough cash to spare, and go ahead and buy anything that you think would look cute on your character.

After that, just head into the dressing room in the store, and you’ll be able to change clothes by selecting your outfits and accessories from a list of items you’ve already unlocked or purchased. Once you’re done, leave the dressing room and confirm that you want to keep your new look.

Most major towns and cities in Pokemon Sword & Shield will feature clothing stores with different types of apparel and styles, so be sure to check them all out.

To recap, here’s how to change clothes and get more outfits in Pokemon Sword & Shield:

  1. Go to any clothing store in town, and talk to the cashier to purchase clothing.

  2. Go to the dressing room inside the clothing store to change clothes and select from a list of apparel you’ve already bought.
