How to Evolve Milcery & Get Alcremie in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Milcery is a Fairy type that evolves into Alcremie, a cute milky creature that might *ahem* take the “cake” for the most delicious looking Pokemon in series history.

It also might have outdone Inkay as having the strangest evolution ever. Well… maybe not, Inkay’s is pretty bizarre but Milcery is definitely up there thanks to its oddly specific requirements.

In order to evolve Milcery you must first let it hold a Sweet that Milcery likes. Serebii has a list of compatible items if you’re not sure which will work. You can get these sweets by competing in various battle cafe challenges dotted around the game’s main cities.

It’s important to note that the sweet you attach to Milcery before evolving it will change the way it looks. The same Serebii link above contains the sprites in case you wanted to give them a look if you care how it looks.

Once you have equipped the item you’ll need to spin around real fast during the day time… Sounds weird but yes, spin your left analog stick in a circle really fast until you do the spin and pose, and then Milcery will evolve into Alcremie!

It might seem totally random, but it’s meant to simulate stirring up ingredients into a cake… at least that’s what I’m imagining what’s happening, I’m a terrible baker, I wouldn’t know from experience.

That’s all you need to know though for how to evolve Milcery into Alcremie. For more tips, tricks and FAQs answered, be sure to check our Pokemon Sword and Shield Wiki Guide. It’s filled with helpful tips and tricks such as how to rename your Pokemon and what the max level cap is.
