How to Get Mantyke

Mantyke’s Pokedex Entry describes it as “somewhat sluggish,” which is attributed to the colder temperature of Galar’s surrounding seas. As you’d expect, that means Mantyke are found near water. Specifically, you can find and catch one surfing within Route 9 or near Motostoke Riverbank.

Once you have your Mantyke, you’ll be able to evolve it once into another form called a Mantine.

Mantyke’s evolve into Mantine naturally, but only if you have Remoraid in your party. Remoraid’s Pokedex provides the clue:

“Using its dorsal fin as a suction pad, it clings to a Mantine’s underside to scavenge for leftovers.”

Like Mantine, Remoraid is another water type Pokemon that is typically found surfing near water. You can find and catch Remoraid within West Lake Axewell if you do not have one already.
