Out of the three starter Pokemon, only one has made the cut. Unfortunately, Squirtle was not that Pokemon.

As such, neither Wartortle or Blastoise, the second and third evolutions of Squirtle, are in Pokemon Sword & Shield as well.

This time around, the game focuses on a brand new water-type: Sobble. This timid water lizard is known for being easy to spook, known for crying often, as well as turning invisible whenever it gets wet.

No, Squirtle is not going to be available for either of the games. He also can’t be transferred over from Pokemon Go & Let’s Go either.
