Jedi Fallen Order Terrarium Explained: How to Get Plant Seeds & What It Does

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

While a majority of Star Wars Fallen Order is all about Cal fighting off the Inquisitors and stopping the extinction of the Jedi race once and for all, you can always help Greez with his little terrarium on the Mantis. Turns out the captain of the ship is quite the green finger, but he could do with a hand from you finding the various plants to grow inside it. Here’s Jedi Fallen Order’s terrarium explained.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Terrarium – What It Does

Let’s get the big question out of the way first. The terrarium doesn’t actually give you any sort of gameplay benefit from our experience with it in-game. Instead, the terrarium and the plants you’re trying to find to fill it are essentially a collectible mechanic in Jedi Fallen Order.

You’ll have to find the plants to go inside it, and then interact with the terrarium to plant the seeds inside.

As you travel across the galaxy, the plants inside the terrarium will grow, flourishing into their fully-grown forms and making Greez a happy alien captain.

How to Get Plants for Greez’s Terrarium

To actually get plants, you’ll need to keep an eye out for BD-1 hopping off Cal’s back and looking at something while you’re exploring planets. When he does this, he’s either found something for you to scan to learn more about the planet (and earn some XP in the process), or he’s found a plant for you to scan.

When he’s found a plant for you to scan, simply press down on the d-pad and let BD-1 do its thing. Then, when you’re next back aboard the Mantis, walk over to the terrarium and press R3 to interact with it.

You’ll then get a closer look at the inside of the terrarium and the plants that are growing inside it. Any seeds you’ve just found will then automatically be planted, too.

Is There a Reward for Filling the Terrarium in Star Wars Fallen Order?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look as though there’s an in-game item that you’ll get for helping Greez flesh out his collection of plants, but you will get the Green Thumb trophy or achievement for your hard work.
