If you’re in love with your armor set in Monster Hunter World Iceborne, but don’t really like the way that it looks. Maybe it’s not visually appealing enough, but you really like the stats that it gives you.

Luckily, this Monster Hunter World expansion comes with a bunch of new features and being able to forge Layered Armor is one of those things. You can wear layered armor over your current equipment to change your appearance and it won’t have any special traits or anything like that – it’s simply for aesthetic purposes. If you’re familiar with any transmog system from other games, you have the right idea.

Keep in mind that if you’re wearing a full set, you must first remove it in order to change it. To change and/or forge layered armor in Iceborne, all you have to do is follow these steps:

  1. Go to your item box.

  2. Scroll to the bottom and select ‘Layered Armor Settings.’

  3. Here, you can change up your armor and also change the color.

  4. To get more, you can head to the Smithy and use materials and resource points to craft new ones.
