This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

A key is required to get into most of the dungeons in Link’s Awakening and if you’re having trouble getting inside the fourth dungeon — Angler’s Tunnel — here’s how to get the Angler Key in Link’s Awakening.

If you’re trying to get into the fourth dungeon, the Angler’s Tunnel, then you might have noticed that a huge waterfall is blocking the path at Tal Tal Heights.

If you want that water to go away, you’re gonna need to grab the Angler Key, which can be found in the desert east of Animal Village.

By waking up the walrus with Marin’s beautiful voice, you now have access to the Yarna Desert, and now all you have to do is go to the northern section of it and face off against a Lanmola.

A cutscene will occur once you walk into the quicksand area and the fight will begin.

Try not to fall in the middle of the sand as you’ll end up having to walk back up via a staircase and start the fight again but as long as you keep hitting him in the head with your sword, this fight shouldn’t be an issue.

Once it’s defeated, the monster will drop the Angler Key.

Head back to the keyhole in Tal Tal Heights (right in front of the dungeon entrance) and place the key in the slot and the waterfall will be gone, giving you access to the Angler’s Tunnel where you’ll find the swimming flippers and some other goodies.

To sum things up:

  1. Get access to Yarna Desert by waking up the walrus in Animal Village.

  2. Go to the quicksand area in the northern section of the desert and fight the mini-boss.

  3. Once you have the Angler Key, go back to the dungeon entrance in Tal Tal Heights and put that baby inside the keyhole.

And that’s all you need to know about how to get the Angler Key in Link’s Awakening!
