How to Shoot and Aim Down Sights in Control

Because this is a third-person action game with shooting elements, of course you’re going to inevitably come across a weapon that lets you aim and shoot it.

To do this, simply hold down the L2 button to aim, and hit R2 to shoot. If you’re on Xbox One, you’ll want to hit the LB and RB buttons respectively.

Unlike your typical third-person shooter games, the ammo system in Control works a little differently. As you fire your weapon, the meter in the middle of the screen will begin to deplete.

If it’s fully depleted, you’ll need to wait a few seconds for it to recharge before you can start firing again.

You can also stop firing the weapon before the meter empties to allow it to fill up before you continue shooting.

It’s worth noting that you won’t be able to start shooting and aiming your weapon until you get your first ranged weapon, which is the Service Weapon.

It’s located in the Director’s office, which you’ll visit as part of the story at the end of the tutorial mission.

To sum things up, here’s what you need to know.

  1. Get the Service Weapon

This is your first gun in the game.

  2. Press L2/ LT

This allows you to aim your weapon.

  3. Press R2/ RT

This allows you to fire your weapon.

That’s all you need to know about how to shoot and aim down sights in Control. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our Control guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
