How to Find & Beat Molduga in Breath of the Wild
The first thing that you’re going to have to worry about is actually finding Molduga out in the Gerudo Wasteland region. This humongous beast hides in the sand and will only come out once it begins to attack you.
The easiest way to find Molduga is to head directly west from Gerudo Town, making your way into an area called Toruma Dunes. Here, you will see several rocks scattered about with four lanterns that need to be lit up with either a bomb arrow or a fire arrow.
Lighting these torches will reveal a hidden shrine that’s named Tho Kayu, and that area is where you need to be to encounter the Molduga. If you’ve already found this shrine, then you’re already ahead of the game.
How to Beat Molduga in Breath of the Wild
You have to be very careful once you begin the battle with a Molduga, as it will crush you if you’re not prepared. If you spot the Molduga crawling in the sand, you need to throw bombs at the ground so that he will think it’s you and attempt to swallow the bomb.
We recommend using square bombs as they will stay right in place and won’t roll about the sand. Once Molduga jumps out of the sand after swallowing the bomb, go ahead and detonate it and he will then fall on his side.
This is the time to run up to Molduga and get a few hits in. Just make sure not to attack for too long as Molduga will start attacking again after a few moments. Once he starts swimming through the sand again, just repeat the bombing process and you should eventually whittle down his health bar until he’s defeated.
Another easy way to fight him is to stand at the entrance of the Tho Kayu shrine and throw bombs from there. Since the shrine is not part of the sand, he can’t hit you if you’re by the door, meaning you can just throw bombs from there and attack him without worrying about taking damage.
