What Is Fuel Used For in Days Gone?

First things first, let us run you through exactly what fuel is used for in Days Gone. You might have already guessed, but fuel is required if you want to use Deacon’s motorbike in Days Gone. After traveling around the open-world for a while, you’ll begin to notice that the fuel indicator in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen will begin to deplete.

Once this reaches zero, you’ll then need to find some fuel in order to refill the tank and carry on with your adventure. It’s also worth noting that some of the missions you’ll come across in Days Gone will require you to find fuel, so it’s always worth knowing where you can go to find it if you’re in a pinch.

But where do you find fuel in Days Gone? Let’s walk you through the different places you can find it.

How to Get Fuel in Days Gone

Buying Fuel From Mechanics

Fuel can be obtained in a number of different ways in Days Gone. The first, and easiest way to get your hands on this flammable liquid is to simply head to either Copeland or Iron Mike’s camp. Both of these have mechanics who, when you interact with them, will enable you to refuel your bike.

Keep in mind, though, that this will cost you Credits, and these are camp-specific, so you’ll need to ensure you’re working with these camps by turning in bounties, completing missions, and more in order to net yourself some Credits.

Once you have, go ahead an interact with the mechanic. In the bottom left corner of the screen, you’ll see a fuel tank icon and the option to Refuel, with a number of Credits next to it. As long as you’ve got the required Credits, press and hold Square and the mechanic will refuel your bike for you, enabling you to continue exploring the open-world.

Finding Fuel in Days Gone

Alternatively, if you’d rather save your hard-earned Credits for something else in Days Gone, you can always look for fuel out in the world. For this, you’re looking for red gas cans littered around the world.

Of course, these are small and can be pretty tricky to spot as you’re cruising around the world, so be sure to use your map and look out for the white fuel point icons on the map to help you narrow down your search.

Once you’ve actually got your hands on fuel, it’s pretty straightforward to get the stuff in your bike. Simply walk on over to the bike with the fuel can in-hand and press and hold Circle when the button prompt appears on-screen by the handlebars. Note this is separate to the Square button prompt that appears, indicating you can hop on the bike.

Upon pressing and holding Circle, Deacon will begin refueling and a percentage will appear indicating how full the tank is. Once it hits 100% (or the fuel can runs out), you’re all set to go forth and kill more Freakers.
