The trailer is quite extensive, and hilarious in its parody of Starship Troopers that is pretty much a classic for the promotion of the Earth Defense Force series.

It also shows plenty of gameplay, including the giant enemies that we’ll fight and the many classes that we’ll be able to enjoy. This includes the new ones like the Prowl Rider.

Last, but not least, we get to take another look at the multiplayer feature of the game, titled “Mercernaries” that allows players to compete in two teams of four (one affiliated with the EDF and the other with the Kindred Rebellion) over killing as many Aggressors as possible and salvage their energy gems.

Gems have to be brought to a collector drone and the team that harvests the most gems wins each round. Winning three rounds means bringing the victory home for the whole match.

You can check the trailer out below. If you want to see more, you can enjoy a nice batch of gameplay from yesterdaymore from last weekenda batch of recent screenshots and the previous trailer.

You should also definitely read our extensive interview with Producer Nobuyuki Okajima, who talked in-depth about the game and its design philosophy.

Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain will launch in Japan and in the west on April 11, 2019, exclusively for PS4.
