How to Get Cooking Ingredients in Kingdom Hearts 3

Recommended Videos

Kingdom Hearts 3 has a lot of fun new additions, including new settings, characters, and gameplay features revolving around everyone’s favorite Disney cooking movie, Ratatouille. Here is everything you need to know about how to get cooking ingredients in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Alongside getting to see Remy teach Sora how to cook, players are treated to a brand new cooking minigame.

In this minigame, you’ll create cuisines you can eat that will give your party important stat boosts. Some dishes are simple, there are plenty of intricate meals that can be made too, with some having up to nine different ingredients.

While each meal will have different effects, they all require you to collect these ingredients before even being able to cook and use them.

Ingredient Locations

For most cooking ingredients, players will be able to find them spread throughout the entirety of the game. A lot of these items will be gathered before you even know you need them.

Sometimes finding what you need will be pretty straightforward. If you need to find fruit, hit baskets of fruit or pick it off of a tree.

Other cooking ingredients will be found simply lying around. Herbs and mushrooms are all over the place, only requiring you to walk up to them and use triangle or Y to pick them up.

Like a lot of video games though there are also a handful of cooking ingredients that can be found by breaking things in random places. For example, Beef can be found by breaking boxes in Olympus.

Using this train of thought, we recommend you follow the cardinal rule of smashing anything that looks breakable in Kingdom Hearts 3. Even if it doesn’t end up being stuff to cook with, it’ll likely be something useful.

Luckily, Kingdom Hearts 3 itself will also help you out in your search for ingredients. While you’re out exploring, sometimes Donald or Goofy will say something like “this looks like a good spot to find ingredients.” That’s your cue to check your immediate area and see what you can find lying around.

As you continue on your adventure in Kingdom Hearts 3, options will also arise to purchase items from stores. Around the time you finish Twilight Town, the Moogle Shop will start selling certain ingredients for anywhere from 10-60 Munny. The shop won’t sell everything, but it will sell the basic stuff you need to get a few meals cooked.

It’s worth noting that the shop will also add more ingredients, just like it adds new items, the more you play through the game.

Now you’ve got all the info you need to not only help Sora and company win but even make a meal that would bring Anton Ego himself to tears. That is everything you need to know about how to get cooking ingredients in Kingdom Hearts 3.

TLDR;

Question: How do you find and get cooking ingredients in Kingdom Hearts 3?

Answer: Cooking ingredients are found spread all throughout the game. They can be found in common sense places (fruit from fruit baskets) or can simply be picked up out of the wild.

Breaking everything you see is also recommended, as you never know what you’ll find in a random box. If all else fairs, vendors eventually sell ingredients for recipes as you progress. If Donald or Goofy says something about ingredients being nearby, that’s also your cue to check your surroundings.
