Fallout 76’s version of the post-apocalypse is a far cry from the dingy wastelands of Fallout 3 and 4. This time around you get to travel through the colorful forests and dense swamps of West Virginia, exploring places left behind by humanity. The world is much brighter and aesthetically pleasing, which means you might want to make use of the games photo mode and snap a few pictures of your scavenger’s journey. Here’s how to take photos in Fallout 76.

How to Take Photos?

To get to Fallout 76’s photo mode, you’ll need to open your map with the menu button on Xbox or the touchpad on PS4, then hit Y or Triangle to launch photo mode. You can also open up the map, press LB (L1) and access photo mode from the menu option there.

At this point, you’ll have a ton of different settings and options to tweak while photo mode is open, like whether you want your character to be visible, what pose you want them in, and more.

You can get different frames and poses for photo mode by playing through the game and completing quests, or purchase them from the Atom Shop.

It should be noted that opening photo mode up won’t pause Fallout 76, so you might still find yourself under attack from vicious monsters.

Where to See Saved Photos?

There are a couple different ways to view the photos you take in Fallout 76. For one, any that you take in-game will be saved to the photo gallery, which you can get to by opening up the main menu then tabbing over with LB (L1). Here you can view your photos full screen or delete them.

Alternatively, when taking photos in photo mode you can simply use the screenshot feature on whatever system your on to save it right to that system.

On PS4 just hit the share button and then triangle to save a screenshot, on Xbox you can double tap the controllers Xbox button and then hit Y to take a screenshot, or on PC you can hit whatever your command is for a screenshot.

If you find yourself really into Fallout 76’s photo mode, this is a handy way to put all your screenshots in one place without having to boot up the game.

Can You Change Loading Screen Photos?

As you’re playing Fallout 76 you’ll no doubt notice that the images on your loading screens are none other than the photos you’ve snapped yourself.

Unfortunately, the game automatically picks photos at random to put on the screens, and at this time, you don’t have a way to hand-select which ones you’d like to see pop up.

Still, it’s a nice way to see some memories from your adventure.
