Red Dead Redemption 2: How to Get Money Fast & Easy

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Money makes the world go round, even in this game. If you’re low on cash, here’s how to get money fast and easy in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Needless to say, you’ll need to stock up on money if you want to buy things like good food or weapons. When you’re broke in Red Dead Redemption 2, you’re pretty much just shooting yourself in the foot.

If you’re not one who likes to save up their cash, there are a few ways you can earn money fast and easy in Red Dead Redemption 2. They still do require a bit of elbow grease though.

How to Get Money Fast & Easy in Red Dead Redemption 2

Completing Main Missions

Firstly, one of the best ways (if not the best way) to earn cash is by following the main story. You’ll be getting official quests that come with some pretty nifty rewards, including cash.

These Red Dead Redemption 2 missions lead to some quick and easy payoffs, and you’ll be swimming in cash before you know it. There’s also no real downside when it comes to making fast and easy money through story missions, so it’s your safest bet.

Robbing Establishments

If you like to live on the edge, you can always turn to a life of crime instead. Red Dead Redemption 2 is packed with all sorts of different establishments you can rob.

One of the easiest things to steal are wagons, which are basically scattered throughout most towns. All you need to do is take them and bring them over to a Fence in Emerald Ranch for some money. It’s also worth noting that the Fence will only be unlocked once you’ve completed an early main mission for Hosea.

Moreover, you can also rob stores in Red Dead Redemption 2 by going and pointing your gun. There are some valuables you can steal and if you’re lucky, maybe even safes that offer some really fat cash.

There are also trains you can hop onto illegally, where you can rob all of the passengers there. Also, don’t forget to loot the baggage carriage as well.

Just take note that robbery is a crime (obviously), which can get you reported and get a bounty. It’s a bit risky, but it’s also a great way to earn cash fast and easy in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Selling Horses, Pelts, and Meat

Another method you can turn to is selling items in the general store. When you’re off hunting animals, you can skin them for their pelts and get their meat.

If you’re not going to use them, you can head on over to any general store or butcher for some money. Just keep in mind that you won’t earn as much compared to clearing main missions or robbing items in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Finally, selling horses to Stables is a great way to make some cash. You can capture rare wild horse breeds and sell them back to a local stable if you don’t need it yourself, or if you steal a horse, you can sell them to one of the horse fences in game.

Gambling

Gambling is generally a bit unreliable in terms of income, for obvious reasons inherent in the name, but if you’re good at the games it’s not a bad way to earn some cash.

Texas Hold ‘Em in particular is a game that you have a decent amount of control over. If you’re an experienced Poker player you can clean up the competition and make easy cash. Plus it’s a lot more fun than grinding if you enjoy Poker.

That’s pretty much everything you need to know about getting money fast and easy in Red Dead Redemption 2. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to drop by our expansive Red Dead Redemption 2 guide wiki.
