The available field research tasks, and what they reward you with, are:
- Catch 10 Psychic-type Pokemon: 1,000 Stardust.
- Catch 5 Drowzee or Abra: Jynx encounter.
- Evolve 3 Slowpoke or Exeggcute: Girafarig encounter.
You can get these tasks by spinning Poke Stops in Pokemon GO. You will be able to get and complete them multiple times, but only once per Poke Stop per day. They’re all very simple, especially with the increased spawns, so you might be able to complete them multiple times during the event.

The best way to get Shiny Drowzee in the new Psychic Spectacular Event is to capture it in the wild. Your chances will be quite slim, but now will be the best chance due to find one due to Drowzee spawns being increased.
Also, that therefore means that Shiny Hypno is now in the game. You will need to evolve a Shiny Drowzee in Pokemon GO by using 50 Drowzee candies to get one.
Additionally, you might be able to hatch Drowzee from 5km eggs. And therefore, there is a small possibility of that being a Shiny variant.
