Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes players back to the Second European War all over again, just as fans took part in back in the original game. If you want to have a character crouch in Valkyria Chronicles 4, it’s worth noting that you can’t just do it at any time. Instead, you can only crouch when behind sandbags or some other sort of cover.

When a character runs up to sandbags in Valkyria Chronicles 4, all you need to do is press X to crouch behind it. This’ll provide you with better cover, reducing the chance that your unit will be hit by any incoming attacks. Particularly handy if there’s a pesky sniper trying to pick off your units as you push forward across the battlefield.
