How to Dive Underwater in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Recommended Videos

Shadow of the Tomb Raider wouldn’t be the same ol’ adventure fans know and love if there wasn’t a lot of tomb raiding, right? Well, a lot of the time, Lara is going to have to go swimming for that ancient treasure. But you’re not limited to just the surface level! No, you can go under. Here’s how to dive underwater in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

When you’re swimming around, you simply need to hold Circle if you’re on PS4 or hold B if you’re on Xbox One. If you’re about to jump into the water, you can actually do a diving animation if you jump first and then hold the commands for diving.

Once you dive under, the rules for swimming are pretty much the same. You hold L3 down when you want to swim faster. If you want to ascend or descend, I recommend pushing the right control stick in the direction you want to go, either up if you want to return to the surface or down if you want to dive in deeper.

Keep in mind, of course, that Lara is human and needs oxygen. You need to get her that air if she’s running out of it! You can do this by returning to the surface or taking advantage of air pockets in tight tunnels.

That’s how you get under that water! That’s how you dive in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. If you need more help with the game, you’re going to want to have a look through our wiki.
