Red Dead Redemption will have you traversing the wild west in a time of duels, saloons, and cowboy hats. Since it’s the wild west, you’ll be able to do a ton of things that won’t really fly nowadays. Like riding horses down roads, dueling, and playing poker for money anywhere you want. If you’re finding yourself short on cash and you’re constantly losing at the famous Texas hold ’em, you’re going to want to be a bit of a scoundrel. Here’s how to cheat at poker within Red Dead Redemption.

To start, you need to be wearing the Elegant Suit to cheat at poker. You will be given the option to do so once you have that suit on while playing any game of poker. To get this suit, simply play a couple of the missions. It’s given to you eventually within the game when you’re following the story.

Once you press the “Cheat” button, you will be able to look at your hand and the table as you normally would, but you’ll notice that there’s now a card on the left-hand side of the screen. That one is the one that you’re able to switch out a card on your hand for. Once you choose to switch out one card, you need to keep the arrow centered on the bar and John will use his slippery hands.

Of course, if you fail the skill check, you’ll be hankering for a duel! No one likes a cheater, after all. You’ll be caught, thrown out, and have to win a duel. But hey, a nice little shortcut if you want to start one, right?

That’s all there is to cheating at poker in Red Dead Redemption! If you need more help, let us know your question in the comments down below. We’ll do our absolute best to help you out, so go right ahead!
