What You Need to Know About the Compact SMG (P90) in Fortnite
Fortnite has just received a fresh new update, adding in skeet shot spots, a bunch of birthday celebration decoration, Slurp Juice changes, and an all-new weapon in the form of the Compact SMG. Why have we also called it the P90? Because it’s absolutely based on the real-life weapon that goes by the same name. Either way, the Compact SMG is a force to be reckoned with in Fortnite when used correctly, so we thought we’d run through what you need to know about this formidable weapon.
The Compact SMG (P90) is an absolute monster in close to medium-range combat scenarios. Whether you’re trying to deal damage to an opponent, or tear through their ramps or walls, this weapon will make light work of whatever’s put in front of it. Its 50 round capacity and insanely high fire rate make it perfect for suppressing your opponent and pinning them down, or if you’re lucky to get close enough without being detected, it’ll rinse that 100 health and 100 shield in literal seconds… seriously. In our own experience with the Compact SMG in Fortnite so far, we can’t imagine that its stats will go unchanged, particularly considering it has these insane stats and little to no recoil at all. We’d expect some sort of recoil to be added in, or the clip size to be dropped in order to make it a little less dominant when suppressing opponents (or just rinsing their health and shield).
