Fortnite: Can You Skip the Queue? Here’s What You Need to Know

Is It Possible to Skip the Queue in Fortnite Battle Royale?

Season 5 of Fortnite has finally begun and that means that millions and millions of players have flocked to their system of choice to see what’s new in the popular battle royale shooter. Unfortunately, those millions and millions of players bring with them extended wait times and an overloaded queue. You might have noticed this if you’ve logged on recently. As such, you might be wondering how to skip those sometimes lengthy queues.

Unfortunately, there is no way to outright skip the Fortnite Battle Royale queue. There is, however, ways to help alleviate extended wait times in the queue, though.

The first thing you’re going to want to do to lessen any queue, and this might seem obvious, is to check out the official Fortnite Twitter. Why? Well, there’s a chance that the servers are down, which means no matter how long you wait, you will never load into a game (at least while the servers are down). On the official Twitter page, Epic Games will usually update followers of this problem or that problem, upcoming server down times and more. Even if you’re not concerned with knowing that information, it’s a great source for news on updates and more for the battle royale shooter.

The second thing you need to do is play at non-peak times to get a smaller queue. Another obvious one, but it can make a world of difference. These peak times typically occur in the late afternoon or evening, or practically any time during the weekend. It’ll be tough to skip out on the game during these peak times, but if you’re experience is plagued by long queue wait times, your best solution might be to play when the rest of the world isn’t.

Finally, a great way to lower queue wait times is to play the game with three other people. A full squad in a “squads” match of Fortnite consists of four players. If you have a full team of people, the servers will have to do less work to fill out a squad (in this case, yours), meaning the overall wait time goes down.
