Nintendo will be releasing a time-limited Mario Tennis Aces demo over the weekend so that Switch players can try their hands at the new game before jumping into the full release on June 22. The free pre-launch online demo tournament will run from 9pm EST right through to the early hours of Monday at 2am EST. All you need to join is a Nintendo Switch, an internet connection, and a winning attitude. Offline play will also be available.
The demo will allow you to play as either Mario, Peach, Yoshi or Bowser, with an extra five characters being unlocked if you have the skills to do so. If you happen to join the demo this weekend, you will also receive a treat in the form of a classic Mario outfit if you do end up buying the full release at the end of the month. At the time of writing, there has been no official prizes announced for the tournament so, for now, the spirit of competition should be enough. Plus, you’ll be helping Nintendo test their online services, which can only lead to a better product when release day hits.
Mario Tennis Aces launches for the Nintendo Switch on June 22 and will be the first Mario Tennis title to sport a story mode since Mario Tennis: Power Tour (2005) for the Game Boy Advance.
