Indie publisher Limited Run Games announced at E3 2018 a list of 19 games that will be receiving physical releases from them, including Yooka-Laylee, Salt and Sanctuary, and Dust: An Elysian Tail.
The publisher dedicated the largest chunk of the show to physical releases for the Switch, and revealed eight games that they would be publishing physically, including Golf Story, Layers of Fear: Legacy, Thumper, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Cosmic Star Heroine, Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, Yooka-Laylee, and Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition. Night Trap is also planned for a digital release on the Switch eShop, and Thumper will also be receiving a physical release on PS4 as well.
Limited Run also continued to support the PlayStation Vita, and announced a number of titles to be physically released for the handheld, alongside simultaneous physical releases on the PS4. Games planned to be released for the Vita are Iconoclasts, Spelunky, Exile’s End, Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit – Full Course, Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds Overdrive, VA-11 HALL-A, 2064: Read Only Memories, and the long-requested Salt and Sanctuary, with all games excluding Senran Kagura also receiving simultaneous PS4 releases. The only release announced that is exclusive to PS4 is Double Switch, a classic FMV game for the Sega CD being restored just in time for a 25th Anniversary Edition, just as Limited Run did with Night Trap on PC last year.
Limited Run also made a point of giving special attention to the special editions of both VA-11 HALL-A and Read Only Memories, showing off the wonderful artwork that comes with both titles, and the benefits of buying both games together. Each will have artwork that folds out from the case, and both game’s boxes can be magnetically connected to each other in order to create one complete image that shows the characters from both games in the same cyberpunk portrait. Customers who purchase both special editions will receive a bonus poster of the artwork formed by the connected cases. Both of these games will be available for purchase from the Limited Run website starting June 29.
