State of Decay 2: How to Use Guns & Ranged Weapons

How to Use Guns & Ranged Weapons in State of Decay 2

Recommended Videos

While being stealthy and smacking some zombie heads with a crowbar is ideal in State of Decay 2, you have the option to use some more heavy duty weapons, too. Guns and other ranged weapons will really help you out when you’re overrun, when you have to keep your distance, or when you’re in need of extra strength. Here’s how to use them within the game.

First, when you’ve picked up a gun, make sure it’s equipped by pressing down on the D-pad to open your inventory and then highlighting it in there. Press X and you’ll equip it in your equipment slot. Next, when you’re out of the inventory menu, you can hold LT to aim and RT to fire it. Remember to use your weapon sparingly in State of Decay 2, as ammo isn’t always easy to come by. Not to mention that the gunshots will attract more zombies to your area, too.

You’ll be able to get weapons and ammo in the locations on the map that have the three bullet icons. Make sure to visit these when you need some firepower.

Good luck out there, survivor. If you need more help with State of Decay 2, leave a comment down below and we’ll try our best to get you the answer. Or, check out our wiki for more tips, tricks, and information.
