Sea of Thieves: How to Change Weapons

How to Change Weapons in Sea of Thieves

Recommended Videos

When battling foes in Sea of Thieves, it’s crucial that you are able to arm yourself with the necessary tool for any occasion. Whether it’s your sword for close combat affairs, or a ranged weapon to knock down your enemy from a distance. As such, knowing how to change weapons is of utmost importance.

Press Y to cycle between your various weapons, whether it’s a cutlass, pistol, blunderbuss or otherwise. You can only have two weapons equipped at any one time in Sea of Thieves, but you can swap in other weapons at an Armory should you need to change things up. Armories are located on your ship, and can also be found outside of the blacksmith’s shop.

It can be hard to predict what kind of weapon you will need in the chaotic world of Sea of Thieves, but it can be dependent on what kind of role you are looking to play: the blunderbuss is a highly offensive weapon for short range combat, while the pistol is adapted to mid-range firing, however, does not have a scope to aid accuracy. The eye of reach is a long-range rifle that is perfect for picking off foes from afar. These are just some of the weapons you will have at your disposal, so be sure to try them all out to see which suits you best.

Sea of Thieves releases for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on 20 March. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
