Destiny 2 is one of the most well-known multiplayer first-person shooters on the market today. The sequel to Bungie’s successful intergalactic shooter made some meaningful improvements in terms of its story. With gorgeous scenery and a lovely soundtrack, Destiny 2 is successful in terms of building a great atmosphere at the game’s foundation but it’s no secret that multiplayer options are one of the biggest incentives for gamers to add Destiny 2 to their video game collections. Whether you’re just interested in teaming up for Raids or want to go head-to-head with other Guardians from across the globe, Destiny 2 has a variety of multiplayer options for you to try out.

If you’re on the hunt for a great new couch co-op game, Destiny 2 isn’t what you’re looking for. There is no splitscreen option for Destiny 2 but you can still team up with friends online. Patrols and Strikes will allow you to build teams of three players for some PvE action while Raids will allow you to extend your team to six players. If you’re far more interested in PvP action then you’ll spend most of your time in the Crucible. You can also bring a fireteam of four players in PvP.

The Crucible introduces the option to play in Quickplay, Competitive, or Trials. In Quickplay you will have the option to dive into the Clash, Supremacy, or Control game modes. Clash follows your usual team deathmatch format while Supremacy is more about tallying up kills by collecting gems from fallen foes. Control is the game mode you’ll prefer if you would rather focus on tactical plays more than kills. If you like to focus on your defense just as much as your offense then Control will certainly wet your appetite. Here you will be tasked with capturing and defending control points. Competitive will give you the option between a survival mode or one that tasks you with planting a bomb at a designated area or preventing the opposing team from doing so. The most competitive form of gameplay will come in the form of the Trials, which reset every week but will always utilize teams of four.
