Middle-earth Shadow of War: How to Get Chests (Silver, Gold)

How to Get Chests in Shadow of War

Recommended Videos

Middle-earth: Shadow of War introduces some microtransactions in the form of chests. These include different loot, from orc followers to gear. You don’t have to get them, of course, but the option is there if you don’t want to grind for them. Let’s cover how to get your hands on chests.

While in the main menu, head over to the Market section. Here, you’ll be greeted by a creepy looking orc that looks like he just wants to take all of your money. This window is where you can buy chests for yourself. You can get loot (with gear for Talion), or war chests (with orc followers). There are also XP boosts or random drops boosts to help you out. All of the options will cost you either silver or gold coins.

Silver is made in-game, while gold coins will definitely require you to spend your real money. After a certain point at the beginning of the game, you’ll be awarded with 500 gold coins, which you can spend any way you like. Don’t expect this charity again, though. You will need to hit the “Buy More Gold” option while highlighting a chest that requires it (Triangle on PS4 or Y on Xbox One X) to buy some for yourself.
