Fake Pass in NBA 2K18

Recommended Videos

Smart play is needed to win matches in NBA 2K18. When you’re stuck holding the ball with two hands, solely abusing the pump fake will make you predictable. Just like in real life basketball, deception helps create openings for your team to land a shot. One of the tools available in your disposal is the fake pass.

To perform a fake pass, simply press the jump and shot button at the same time. It’s triangle plus circle for PS4, Y and B for Xbox, and X and A for the Switch. Similar to performing a regular pass, the direction held on the left stick determines which person you’ll throw the fake pass to.

Take note that the fake pass doesn’t work when you activate icon passing.

You can perform the fake pass as many times as you want. Additionally, you can alternate between pump fake and fake passes until you see a shot opening or an open teammate. However, take care not to abuse these actions as your enemies can easily steal the ball when you’re repeatedly performing such maneuvers. Also, make sure that the player you use has a high enough ball handling skill if you don’t want to lose the ball.
