Destiny 2: How to Unlock and Play Floor is Lava

HOW TO UNLOCK AND PLAY FLOOR IS LAVA MINIGAME IN DESTINY 2

Recommended Videos

Destiny 2 might be a shooting game, but as we’ve already seen in The Farm Social Hub, it has its fair share of hidden secrets and minigames to find and enjoy, too. The Floor is Lava is one such activity, based on the game you might have seen played in real life, in which people pretend the ground is untouchably hot.

After completing Destiny 2’s main campaign, players can interact with an object in The Tower that will initiate The Floor is Lava minigame. To trigger the challenge, go to Courtyard of The Tower and look for a steep slope on the left that you can climb all the way to the top. You will notice crates on the left side of the walkway that produce an interaction that reads “Don’t Pick Me Up”. In order to unlock the minigame, ignore this warning and pick up the item anyway. A notification will suddenly pop up saying “The Floor is Lava!”. From the moment the floor turns to “lava”, you must avoid the ground at all costs.

The objective of the minigame is to reach the marker highlighted by a blue beam of light pointing to the sky. The blue beam can spawn in three different locations, but it will always be somewhere on the other side of the Courtyard. In order to traverse to its location, jump between the boxes, propane tanks and pallets. You can also walk carefully across railings to avoid the ground. If you do touch the ground, you’ll have about five seconds to quickly get back onto whatever box or railing you were attempting to jump to. When you’re taking damage, the screen will begin to go red and you’ll eventually die.

Once you have reached the beam of light and completed the Easter egg challenge, you’ll be granted a useful “Quickness” buff, which allows you to move quicker and jump a lot higher as well.

That’s all you need to know about how to unlock and play “The Floor is Lava!” minigame. For more on Destiny 2, check out our wiki page.
