Mass Effect Andromeda: How to Scan Planets & Send Probes

How to Scan for Anomalies and Send Probes in Mass Effect Andromeda

Recommended Videos

As you survey the vast expanses of the Andromeda galaxy from the bridge of your ship, you’ll be able to jump into a ton of systems. These systems may harbor planets you’ll need to visit for main missions or side quests, but others may appear to be unimportant. Fear not, though, all you need to do is get scanning.

Mass Effect Andromeda allows players to scan for anomalies within these systems. All you need to do is simply hold down the LT or L2 button while you move your cursor around the system. You should then notice a small arrow appear on the orange ring around your cursor. Move your cursor in the direction the arrow is pointing until it pings that you’ve found an anomaly.

Now that you know how to scan for anomalies, you need to send probes to retrieve the goods. With your cursor highlighting the new-found anomaly, press the RT/ R2 button. This will fire off a probe and after a while, you’ll be up close and personal with said anomaly. More often than not, you’ll be greeted with a nice mineral deposit to fuel your weapons research further.

That’s all you need to know to scan for anomalies and send probes in Mass Effect Andromeda. Be sure to check out our wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on the game.
