Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links: Which is the Best Pack?

When constructing your deck of cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, players will eventually need to branch out and purchase card packs. This item allows players to trade in their hard-earned gems for new cards. However, what you get will be dependent on which of the three currently available booster packs you choose. It’s also important to note that the three cards you receive in said booster pack are random, so starting out you’ll want to take that into account. Each of the three different packs have their own themes and strengths, so make sure to read over each set’s list of cards to know what exactly you’re buying. The last thing you will want to pay attention to is the “Possible Ultra Rare” card list that’s right over the main block. These are the best Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links cards obtainable in said pack and some will have far more Ultra Rare level cards than others.

When you’re starting out, we recommend picking up The Ultimate Rising packs as they are by far the most balanced out of the three. There are 10 Ultra Rare cards in this set with powerful monsters like Axe Raider, Hane-Hane, and Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon leading the line-up. There are also extremely powerful Spell and Trap cards that work with almost any deck regardless of your theme. Mask of the Accursed will stop a creature from attacking and make your opponent take damage each turn, while Wonder Balloons lets you ditch dead cards in your hands to lower the attack power of your opponent’s monsters. There’s an incredible balance to these cards and if you aren’t aiming for any particular theme with your deck, this is the best pack you can buy with the most consistent results.

That’s not to say the other packs don’t have positives, as the Neo-Impact pack is fantastic for those looking to build a dragon themed deck or are looking for some of the best ritual summon monsters. However, unless you are going for a specific design with your cards, this pack will not be ideal for general deck building. The same goes for the Age of Discovery packs which have very powerful water monsters but don’t offer much on the Ultra Rare front. At the time of writing this, the best pack of cards is The Ultimate Rising pack, however, this can change as more and more are added into Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links.
