What Beats Water Type Pokemon?

This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Pokemon, as we all know, is all about training your pocket monsters to be the very best, like no one ever was. You need to catch, train, battle, and evolve them in order to prove your mastery in the world. Now, with Sun and Moon’s release, things are no different! You will still have specific types to fight with, and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Let’s talk about Water Pokemon!

Water is, of course, incredibly strong against the following types:

  • Fire
  • Ground
  • Rock

Hit any of those kind of enemies with an aqua-based attack and they will be done for in no time with all of the “super effective” hits you will do. Here’s a list of some notable attacks you can do:

  • Bubble
  • Bubble Beam
  • Water Gun
  • Water Sport
  • Waterfall
  • Whirlpool

On the other hand, water Pokemon are weak against the following types:

  • Grass
  • Electric

So keep away from those types. Recall your little buddy off the field if they’re just going to end up fainting. Here are some of the most popular Pokemon of this kind:

  • Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise
  • Magikarp, Gyrados
  • Totodile, Croconaw, Feraligatr
  • Vaporeon
  • Mudkip
  • Popplio, Brionne, Primarina
  • Psyduck, Golduck
  • Lapras
  • Poliwag, Poliwhirl
  • Feebas, Milotic
  • Froakie, Frogadier, Greninja

That’s about all the information you need to go out there and win all of your battles! For more help with Pokemon Sun and Moon, be sure to check out Twinfinite’s wiki for guides and tips!
