A new launch trailer has released for Planet Coaster by Frontier Developments, the studio behind theme park simulators like Zoo Tycoon and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.
Planet Coaster’s Alpha mode began back in March 2016, with a Beta released earlier this month for players who owned the Early Bird Edition or Thrillseeker pre-order on Nov. 9. Now its on its way to all players with an official launch on PC through Steam.
In the new launch trailer seen below, we get a look at some of the options players will have to unleash their creativity. Featuring piece-by-piece construction, Planet Coaster’s tool-set allows players to add both massive and miniature details to their creations and then share them with other players through its integrated Steam workshop system.
Planet Coaster is said to be a spiritual successor to Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, and it’s not hard to see why. While RCT3 had a more rigid structure to design, Planet Coaster approaches park design more freely with more customization options for both rides and theme park decorations.
