Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: Goku Mentor / Master Quest Guide

Goku’s Initiation Test

Recommended Videos

Goku is one of the most powerful warriors in the entire Dragon Ball universe, and he can be your master in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. To get him to come to Conton City and train you, you must first beat the story. This will have Goku show up as an instructor just north of where you find Gohan. Just look at your map and look for a pink, house-like icon in that area and it will lead you right to the powerful Saiyan.

Once you find him, you’re going to have to prove your might by showing him you can pull off his very own Spirit Bomb technique. Just land the attack and keep fighting until you get the finish. Goku will be pleased and agree to take you on as his pupil.

For completing this test you’ll get:

  • 100 Zeni
  • Spirit Bomb

Once done, you can talk to him again to make him your master (which will move him to the front of the high school by the fountain), or take your next lesson.  Keep in mind that if you’re not able to progress in the lessons, it means you need to progress in your advancement tests at the school (lower left-hand corner of the map).

Lesson 1: Instant Transmission in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Your first lesson will teach you the teleportation strike known as Instant Transmission. It’s one of Goku’s signature techniques in the anime which he refuses to stop using after he learns it on Planet Yardat (after having his ass handed to him by Frieza). But he’s willing to teach it to you without you getting your butt kicked.

All you have to do is use the attack to win the battle, which isn’t too difficult of a feat. Make sure to watch your stamina, though, so you can keep out of harm’s way if need be.

For completing this lesson you’ll get:

  • 200 Zeni
  • Instant Transmission

It’s now time to teleport over to your next lesson (not really, though. Just remain and talk to Goku).

Lesson 2: x10 Kamehameha in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

We’re not entirely sure who names the moves or what mathematical formula they use to determine whether something is x10 or x20, but this is still a pretty cool move. It works just like your typical Kamehameha in the game, only it’s much, much stronger.

In order to prove that you’re worthy of wielding this powerful ability, you’ll have to, you guessed it, win a battle using it. We suggest using a basic combo which will cause a flash step that leaves your opponent flying helplessly towards you. Pop the x10 Kamehameha once you teleport and you’ll connect the attack more often than not.

For completing this lesson you’ll get:

  • 300 Zeni
  • x10 Kamehameha

You’re ready to learn Goku’s ultimate attack. If you passed the Super exam, that is.

Lesson 3: Super Kamehameha in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Goku really likes his Kamehamehas, doesn’t he? This version is even stronger than the x10 (though we don’t know the multiplier for this unique attack). By now, you’ve probably obtained the ultimate attacks of quite a few masters and mentors in the game, so you should know what comes next. If you want the move, you’re going to have to rip it from Goku’s cold, dead hands. Or, you can just beat him in the sparring match he challenges you to.

For completing Goku’s final challenge, you get:

  • 400 Zeni
  • Super Kamehameha

Have fun beating Goku’s enemies with his moves, that’s sure to give them some seriously unpleasant flashbacks.
