Civilization VI: How to Buy Buildings

Something to use if you're flush with cash!

Much like every good sequel, some things change and some stay the same. In Civilization VI, the ability to purchase buildings with gold is back, but is in a dissimilar location that you might not see at first, due to the changes in the User Interface.

The Purchase with Gold tab is now available through the little cog with the gold coin next to it. The fourth option on the above image, reading from left to right.

From there, you can use your hard-earned cash to ignore the production process and straight up buy that Granary you’ve been waiting for. You can also do this for combat units and even trade caravans, a quicker option to expand your military might or your international commerce. This is handy when you’ve got a lot of money, and don’t want to wait on certain buildings. Especially when you’re starting up new cities later in the game, or are having to deal with a surprise war and need units quickly. Always keep in mind this option, and make sure your gold supplies are high enough to sustain any emergency.
