Square Enix has confirmed the release date for their mobile role-playing game Mobius Final Fantasy will be revealed soon following the game’s one-year anniversary in Japan.
Mobius Final Fantasy is an episodic Japanese role-playing game for iOS and Android devices. Though we’re all still waiting for a solid Western launch date, Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy VII director and Producer of Mobius Final Fantasy Yoshinori Kitase says it’s on the way.
“We hope to have the game available in the not-so-distant future,” said Kitase in a Final Fantasy Portal blog post. “Look forward to the announcement.”
Mobius Final Fantasy offers a turn-based tactical battle system and features characters from the mainline games such as Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud Strife and Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII. Square Enix changed the main protagonist’s costuming in April 2015 after fan feedback describing the character as “too sexy.”
