Of course, as all accolades trailers, it focuses on the positive side of the reviews. This is something pretty much all publishers do for all games (unless you’re creating a trailer for The Quiet Man, in which case you have to be a bit more creative).

Shenmue III was always going to be polarizing, splitting critics among those who welcomed the fact that the series remained true to its legacy and those who did not accept a game that purposely did not court modern sensibilities.

Of course, the video below features some among the former group.

Personally, I’m definitely happy that Ys Net opted to stick to its guns instead of trying to turn Shenmue into something it was never meant to be. It’s just heartwarming for this old gamer to know that I live in a world in which Shenmue III exists.

As you may infer, I enjoyed the game throughly, but you can read our own review and see what our very own Hayes Madsen thought about it.

If you want to see more about the game, you should also check out the launch trailer, a video focusing on the story, another showcasing the world, one featuring combat and training, and another showcasing the gameplay features.

Shenmue III is currently available for PS4 and PC.

He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
