Kratos is more popular than ever.
God of War is arguably the most iconic PlayStation IP around and it has been a while since we last joined Kratos for a rage fueled adventure. Earlier this year at E3, Sony blew us away with a fantastic gameplay trailer introducing us to a new God of War game.
The trailer was put online shortly after E3 and has since bec0me the most viewed PlayStation of all time, surpassing giants like the Final Fantasy VII remake trailer from 2015. The video has over 14 million views is the second most watched game trailer of 2016 after Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
As PressA2Join reports, Battlefield 1’s trailer has a whopping 50 million views whilst Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare comes in second with 36 million, though these have the advantage in that they’re multiplatform titles.
It seems safe to say that gamers are pumped to get back into the action with Kratos and go on another violent quest. An exact release date for God of War is yet to be announced but it is expected to arrive sometime in 2017.
