Sony has revealed that a PlayStation VR bundle that includes the PlayStation Camera and PlayStation Move controller is coming, alongside the standalone headset.
Sony finally unveiled the price and release window for their virtual reality headset, PlayStation VR, earlier tonight during a GDC press briefing. However, when they revealed the contents of the headset’s retail box, many noticed that the PlayStation Camera – a $60 device that is necessary for the VR headset to work – was not included.
Sony’s head of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, jumped to the rescue however, revealing to TechInsider in an interview that the headset would indeed be shipping with a bundle that included the necessary camera, as well as a Move controller – one of Sony’s motion controllers. No price was specified for the bundle.
PlayStation VR is Sony’s foray into the vastly expanding virtual reality market, where it is currently competing with the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift, both of which are more powerful – but more expensive.
