This past December at the Game Awards, Naughty Dog revealed a new trailer for their upcoming action adventure game Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. In the trailer, series protagonist Nathan Drake comes across and exchanges a few blows with a new character named Nadine Ross, a South African woman.

Fans were ecstatic at the reveal of a South African woman in the game, but their excitement for her deflated after it was revealed that she would be voiced and motion captured by famous voice actress Laura Bailey, a woman who is definitely white and definitely not South African. To some, her casting felt like Naughty Dog went with a popular name instead of finding an actual woman of color to voice Nadine. After months of silence, Bailey herself finally took to Twitter to give out a response on her thoughts on the matter:

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will hit the PS4 on April 26.
