The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Clearing Your Inventory Space

Recommended Videos

As you journey through Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you’ll be picking up all sorts of weapons, equipment, materials, and ingredients. While you do have separate menu tabs for each of these items, you’ll find that your inventory will fill up fairly quickly. Before long, you’ll want to clear out your inventory to make space for other items that you can pick up.

To make some space, open your main menu and go to the item that you want to discard. If you want to discard a weapon or piece of equipment, simply select it and you’ll see a Discard option for you. Picking that will allow you to drop the equipment on the ground. For materials and other items, you’ll have to select them and have Link hold it. Once Link is holding it in his hands, you can either have him consume the item (if it’s a consumable), or just have him throw the item on the ground, where you can leave it and never come back for it again.
