How to Heal Yourself in Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Eventually, no matter how hard you try, some pesky orc is gonna land a hit on Talion. He may be a mighty fine warrior, but when you’re outnumbered in Shadow of War, evading all those blades can become a tricky task. As such, you’re probably wondering how to restore health and heal yourself.

Unlike some other games that dish out health regen once you’re out of danger, Shadow of War instead tasks you with finding an orc or uruk-hai. Once you’ve spotted one, you’ll need to use your Drain ability by holding Circle or B on Xbox One. Of course, using Drain can be pretty tricky when there are a ton of enemies swinging their weapons at you, so you’re best picking off a lone orc to heal your health before jumping back into battle.

It’s also worth noting that you’ll restore health when you start and finish a quest, as well as when you fast travel. So if you’ve just come out of a particularly challenging quest, you don’t have to worry about your dwindling HP bar when you’re free to explore again.

That’s pretty much all you need to know to heal your health in Shadow of War. For more on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
