Guns are broken down into three specific categories, each of which can be obtained in vastly different ways. You can obtain these firearms via gun crates that are hidden in cartel compounds or outposts.

The second type of weapons are boss-specific firearms that can only be acquired after you have dispatched of that enemy in their specified region. You cannot customize or alter these guns in any way since they’re rather elaborate in their designs and often feature artwork along etched into the various components. Make no mistake, these weapons are very deadly and can easily take out an entire squad of enemies with no issues.

Finally, there are the Ubisoft-specific weapons that players can only obtain via the U-Play system. This is a rewards program that gives players points for completing games, unlocking achievements, or performing specific tasks. You can then purchase these weapons in-game by highlighting them in the Loadout menu and holding down the Square (PS4) or X (Xbox One) button.
