Original Soundtracks
One could easily argue that the Final Fantasy series has some of the best music to ever grace video game consoles. Why not gift a Final Fantasy fan with an OST or two of their favorite Final Fantasy games?
You should be able to find any major Final Fantasy game OST online somewhere, especially in places like eBay and Amazon. Depending on how all out you want to go, they usually range from a basic CD around $15 to something grandiose, boxed, and fancy which could be as high as $50-plus.
Also, don’t restrict yourself to plain old OSTs. You could do a mixtape of the best remixes out there on the internet or purchase an orchestrated remaster such as the Distant Worlds collection. Don’t rule out giving them some music for a game that maybe they never played. Final Fantasy XI in particular was missed by many fans, but still has excellent music from the famed composer Nobuo Uematsu. Finally, if someone on your list has been very nice, you could get them the 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box. I’ll reiterate, VERY NICE considering the price it’s currently going for.
Apparel and Jewelry
Final Fantasy has been around long enough to attract clothing makers to create all kinds of apparel and jewelry. Officially from Square Enix or otherwise. A lot of Square Enix’s stuff is cool, but can be very pricey. Such as these pendants that are in the $120 range. We’d only advise going in that direction if you got the skills to pay the bills.
There are a lot of other apparel out there that won’t cost an arm and a leg. There are tons and tons of clothing to choose from on Redbubble. While Square Enix takes their merch pretty seriously, the stuff on Redbubble can be quite clever and funny.
Gifts for the Final Fantasy MMO Fan
While the single player JRPGs get most of the attention in the Final Fantasy community, there are two excellent MMOs that also share the honor of being a main numbered series. The first is Final Fantasy XI which is still alive and kicking all these years later (although the PS2 and 360 servers will be shut down soon). You could always kick a fan of the old MMO some subscription time (which, of course, goes for FFXIV as well), which is something you can never go wrong with. But there’s also this sweet Vana’diel Clock, which plays all the theme songs from the four original nations.
Final Fantasy XIV hasn’t been around nearly as long as XI, but does have similar gift potential. There is a cosmetic cash shop in the Square Enix Account Management page, that your loved one could give you a wishlist for (which includes a sweet Sleipnir mount). There are also plushes available from the Square Enix store that are adorable, but again be warned as they are pricey. Finally, if whoever you’re shopping for is a big Miqo’te (or Mithra from FFXI) fan, get them these crazy cool cat-eared headphones.
Figurines
There are a TON of amazing Final Fantasy figures to choose from, ranging from affordable to, um… Life Styles of the Rich and Famous level of income. There are a couple of cute ones available from the Square Enix store at what many may consider an affordable price. Also, the Final Fantasy Wiki Page has a helpful listing of the Play Arts Action Figures that you could go and hunt down.
Toywiz has a larger selection of figures at a wide variety of price ranges. Including this sweet Red XIII one from Final Fantasy VII. Toywiz even has action figures from some less popular titles such as Vanille from Final Fantasy XIII. My personal favorite that isn’t too expensive is this Knights of The Round PVC Figure.
Some Sweet Art Work
Finally, wrapping up our guide is a little something for our more cultured friends and loved ones. Final Fantasy concept artwork is some of the most beautiful in gaming. Walmart is selling this fantastic hardcover collection of art work from the famed Yoshitaka Amano for $84.99 which would be an amazing gift for anyone that appreciates looking at artwork. Amano’s concept/box art is some of the prettiest around.
Redbubble also has some framed prints that has been done by various artists. Some of them, especially the framed ones can be expensive though, so you’re going to have to do some digging to find one that’s worth the price for your budget. Alternatively, you could check out FineArtAmerica which has some Final Fantasy artwork for sale and will give you some options on how you want the art to be presented, such as a canvas print or a throw pillow.
