The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is the anticipated expansion to the popular MMORPG, ESO. Although it has had its up and downs since its release, with the One Tamriel Update last year and the switch to a buy to play model, it seems like ESO has stabilized quite a bit and is now looking to expand and improve, and that’s where Morrowind comes in.
For those wondering how long Morrowind is, that answer is going to vary greatly depending on your play style. If you’re starting from level one, it’s obviously going to take you a bit to get up to speed as compared to someone who coming into the expansion as an existing player.
That said, officially, Bethesda has claimed that Morrowind will add 30 hours worth of new content: “This June, the next Chapter in The Elder Scrolls Online will begin. Return to the iconic island of Vvardenfell for over 30 hours of adventure in a brand new location, with a new class, a new PvP mode, a new Trial, and so much more.” via ESO official.
As far as how large the expansion is in size, various redditors and dataminers have deduced that the Vvardenfell is indeed quite large in comparison to other regions in the game and the environment will look quite similar to how fans will remember it from TES III. YouTuber Shawn Brunelle estimates that Vvardenfell will be 64.26% bigger than Craglorn and 52.90% bigger than Wrorthgar. You can see his full break down of how he got to those numbers here.
As always, weigh what you can afford versus the the price and amount of what is being offered to determine if something is worth getting to you, but at least in comparison to what ESO has offered thus far in terms of DLC, Morrowind appears to objectively be one of its biggest yet. We’ll have word on the quality when our review is out later next week.
