Unlock All Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Characters
Just like its predecessor, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has a very large roster that includes unique characters and many of their different forms, not to mention different costumes you can obtain for each. Naturally, if you’re a fan of the Dragon Ball universe, you’re going to want to unlock every single one of them. Thankfully, it isn’t incredibly difficult to unlock a vast majority of the characters available in the game.
To unlock most of the roster, you’ll simply have to beat the main story and all 100 Parallel Quests. This will unlock each of the following characters along with all of their wardrobe options.

After obtaining all of the above characters you will notice that there are still some spaces in your character select screen that you’ll probably want to fill. You’ll have to put in some work, but we’ll guide you through it.

Super Saiyan 3 Bardock
How to Get All Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Characters
There is a secret character that wasn’t revealed back when Dimps showed off the roster for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 before launch. This character is Super Saiyan 3 Bardock, and he is only obtained by getting the true ending of the game, which is a very time consuming process.
First you’ll want to collect all five Time Eggs located in the rifts above Conton City. Once you have those, head over to the Supreme Kai of Time in the Time Nest to unlock more story missions that will put you in control of Bardock as he fights against Mira and Towa. During your fight with Mira, you’ll find yourself transforming as the battle progresses. Before all is said and done, Bardock will achieve Super Saiyan 3. Upon completion of the fight, you will unlock this form for use in the game.
It may take a long time (especially to obtain Majin Buu’s egg), but it’s well worth it. Super Saiyan 3 Bardock is easily one of the most powerful characters in the entire game.
Make Four Wishes
How to Get All Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Characters
You can unlock four more characters by making use of the Dragon Balls scattered throughout Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Of course, obtaining seven of these rare items can be a challenge, but we’ve found a way to get them quickly, allowing you to make a wish after about only an hour of work. Once you have seven, head on over to the Dragon Ball Pedestal which can be found on a hill in the center of Conton City.
Interacting with this pedestal will bring up a list of wishes, you’ll want to choose “I want more usable characters!” This wish can be used four times, each time granting a new character for use in the game. The four characters are:
- Wish 1 – Hit from Dragon Ball Super
- Wish 2 – Nuova Shenron or Eis Shenron from Dragon Ball GT
- Wish 3 – The remaining character between Nuova and Eis Shenron
- Wish 4 – Omega Shenron from Dragon Ball GT.
For now, these are the only unlockable characters through wishes. But there are still a couple of other individuals you can grab.
Goku Black
How to Get All Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Characters
Goku Black is one of the primary antagonists in Dragon Ball Super, the newest series in the long-running anime. Without getting into too much spoiler territory (for those who want to actually watch the series), suffice it to say that this isn’t the Goku you know and love. His dark demeanor instantly conveys his evil nature. He’s powerful, easily one of the strongest in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, plus he looks pretty cool.
To obtain him you’re going to have had to pre-ordered the game or obtained a Day-One Edition of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. He will be added later on as regular DLC, but for now this is the only way to unlock this powerful adversary.
