Oh... Oh yes.

UPDATE: Konami and Triumph Motorcyles revealed the new bike at Comic-Con London. Triumph also announced that the motorcycle would be a one-off item and that it would not be available for purchase via their catalog.

My take on it? It’s highly unlikely that the collaboration between Konami and Triumph was simply a marketing move to generate more publicity and hype for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V. That bike’s gonna be rideable in-game.

Original story:

Hardcore fans of the Metal Gear Solid series will remember that back in MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, Big Mama and Old Snake escaped Raging Raven and her recruits on the back of a very stylish Triumph motorcycle during a chase sequence (“I only get off my bike when I fall in love… or fall dead.”). A Triumph Bonneville T100, to be specific. The Paradise Lost Army members used the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 instead – also a very pretty bike.

So naturally, when Big Boss was seen sitting atop a motorcycle at the end of the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain GDC trailer, the first question I asked was: “Wait, what brand of motorcycle is that?”

Well, it looks like Konami has answered that very important question that’s been weighing on all of our minds since the release of the GDC trailer from two years ago. The official Facebook page for Triumph Motorcycles showed off a short teaser today, practically announcing a collaboration between themselves and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The bike will be fully revealed on May 22, but I think it’s a safe bet to say that Triumph Motorcycles will be making a… triumphant return to the Metal Gear Solid series. Oh… oh yes.
