Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power Announced for 2015 Release

Trine, Trine, and Trine again.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

The Trine series has been one of those recent indie gaming success stories. Having sold over 7 million games across both Trine and Trine 2, Frozenbyte games are taking another bite of the cherry with the announcement that they’ll be bringing Trine 3 to PC sometime in 2015.

Shown off in the announcement trailer, see above, Trine 3 (luckily they didn’t go with Trin3), will take a glorious lope across environments much like those we’ve been used to seeing in the series so far. Locations look to feature the interactive elements which players have become used to moving and manipulating to carry the three characters across levels.

If the trailer is also to be believed in one respect, we could see different viewpoints for particular parts of the game. One such viewpoint change sees a character grappling their way across a chasm. Of course this could just be an FMV introduction to a zone or even something made specifically for the trailer. Trine fans will nonetheless feel their appetites well and truly whet by what’s on display.

Huge bosses and combat scenarios also find their way into the trailer, even some gliding with a shield that really shouldn’t be able to carry the weight of those underneath.

There’s no set release date as of yet for Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power. From what is on display in this trailer so far though, fans and newcomers alike are likely to find something they want in Trine 3.
