The Marksman variant, if you couldn’t figure out by its name, prefers to keeps enemies at a distance. Erron Black gains two long range abilities by the way of Long Shot and Unload. Long Shot allows Erron Black to fire a single powerful shot from his rifle across the stage. This special can be delayed by holding down the square button. As long as your opponent doesn’t have an effective long-ranged counter, you could hold this shot until they drop their guard and then hit them. Unload can be fired from some range as well, but the enhanced version of it is more effective from medium to short range.

Sand Grenade: Back, Forward, X

Caltrops: Down, Back, X

Sand Slide: Back, Forward, Circle

Sand Trap: Down, Back, Forward, Triangle

Long Shot: Down, Forward, Square

Unload: Down, Back, Square

Gunslinger

Channel your inner spaghetti western with the Gunslinger variant. What makes this variant unique is its Stand Off special. The combination itself does nothing (damage wise) but what it does instead is put you into a stance where you can fire off a different move from. Hitting X while in Stand Off will launch a powerful low attack that will sweep enemies off their feet, circle will attack mid, and Triangle goes high. In addition, the Gunslinger gets various Money Shot attacks, that can strike the enemies for decent damage across a variety of distances depending on which combination you use. If you’re going to go Gunslinger make sure you use Stand Off to your advantage and keep your opponents guessing.

Sand Grenade: Back, Forward, X

Caltrops: Down, Back, X

Sand Slide: Back, Forward, Circle

Sand Trap: Down, Back, Forward, Triangle

Stand Off: Down, Back, Square

Money Shot: Down, Right, Square

Outlaw

The Outlaw variation mixes in Erron Black’s powerful Tarkatan Blade weapon in various different Kombos and by way of the extremely powerful Tarkatan Stab attack. While Outlaw still retains a lot of Erron Black’s long-ranged moves, making proper use of the Tarkatan Blade will need you to be closer than usual, so keep that in mind. The Tarkatan Stab special is not just powerful in its own right, but also does damage over time upon completion. It’s worth noting that if you can, it might be worth it to enhance Tarkatan Stab to Tarkatan Infection, as the damage over time effect on that is greatly increased and is well worth it.

Sand Grenade: Back, Forward, X

Caltrops: Down, Back, X

Sand Slide: Back, Forward, Circle

Sand Trap: Down, Back, Forward, Triangle

Tarkatan Stab: Down, Forward, Triangle

X-Ray (L2+R2 with full meter)

Erron Black delivers a magic bullet with your enemy’s name literally on it. In order to land it, you’ll need a clear shot of your enemy’s lower section. Erron Black first drops a sand grenade at your enemies’ feet before going into the X-Ray attack. Luckily, you don’t need to worry about aiming it, as Erron Black can deliver this attack from just about anywhere on the stage. Just make sure your opponent isn’t blocking low.
